What is Memono?

An inventory of everything you own. Make a box for a room, a shelf, a drawer, or an actual cardboard box, and photograph what goes in it. Each thing is cut out of its photo and dropped into the box as a clean cutout, so a box looks like the pile of things it actually holds.

Does anything leave my phone?

No. There is no account, no analytics, and no network call. The cutting out, the guess at what a thing is, and the search that finds it again all run on the phone. The longer version is on the privacy page.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone on iOS 18 or later. The cutting out runs on the device's own neural hardware, so recent iPhones do it best.

How does the cutting out work?

Memono uses Apple's on-device subject lifting, the same machinery behind touching and holding a subject in Photos. The photo goes in, the thing comes back out with its background removed, and a paper edge is drawn around it so it reads as a die-cut sticker.

Do I have to type anything?

Rarely. The app works out what a thing is and which category it belongs to, and reads any words printed on the thing itself, so search usually finds things you never described.

When can I get it?

Memono is coming to the App Store. This page will carry the link the day it is out.
